Re: r721 - Position slider (seek slider) no longer expands (2 replies, posted in Squashed Bugs)
personaly i wouldnt call that a bug.
the slider in this release is at least 4 up to 5 cm, which is pretty much for a usual song
(ignoring mix-tapes)
i noticed that BUG myself as a feature

Topic: The way Cog handles hidden files and folders (0 replies, posted in Bugs)
Hi,
today i realized (maybe a bit late i know ) that Cog has a special behaviour regarding what it displays or not in File Drawer.
Is it supposed to display a usually Hidden Folders (i.e. .AppleDouble)
but not to display a hidden file (i.e. .DS_Store) ?
From my point of view it would make sense to display none of both cases.
This would be the same behaviour then Finder uses.
Just a small idea.

* font increasing works
* store window position works
just a short question regarding window position:
In my case it always relaunched cog on the same position, but i was asking myself if it is expected that Cog does NOT saves if File Drawer was open or not.
Basically this is not a feature i do really need, i just realized this behaviour while testing the window-position itself after re-launching the app.
Thumbs up..another great release

Re: Increase/Decrease Text Size of Playlist (8 replies, posted in Archives)
First impression:
works like a charme.
In my case this is a great advantage, as i can display more informations on the same amount of space (so using decreasing here).
Havent realized any real problem so far. Looks stable if i can say that after 30 min of using this release
Edit: just checked the increase/decrease behaviour with some asian-font....works quite similar.

Re: 0.08 Nightly (98 replies, posted in Development)
some words regarding the last nightly r694:
* output control: much much much better then in the previous releases. now the function is useable again. Thanks for those changes
* seeking: WOHA. another small but great function.
* mini-player:
i am not really sure but it looks like this release has a small and un-important display bug ( i just call it like this) while minimizing to mini-player or maximizing to default player. It looks like the buttons gets temporaly streched in the last moment of the minimize/maximize action. Maybe i have just not realized this in earlier releases...now i am. Just as notice
thumbs up for your work...once again hehe.

sounds like a great idea, as long as it is optional.

Re: compact mode or toggle playlist (7 replies, posted in Features)
interessting.
most nightly-releases i get work out of the box on 10.5
i had that crash problem with one single nightly, but in general i should agree.
using nightly build is never a 100% safe thing...which should be kinda clear

Re: Improve loudness-control with your mouse-wheel (13 replies, posted in Features)
regarding the visualization....amarok does exactly that
Just move on the Tray Icon in kde and you can control the level with a small bar indicating the level.

Topic: Improve loudness-control with your mouse-wheel (13 replies, posted in Features)
Hi,
small idea, lets see what all other cog users do think about it.
At the moment
If i press the loudness button the slider pops up and i can control loudness with mouse-clicks
how about adding a mouse-wheel function ?
Idea A:
----------
i.e.
if the slider is pop'ed up & mouse is in the sliders focus wheel-up & whell down could control the slider
would be much smoother then just by clicking i guess
Idea B:
---------
if mouse is over the loudness button, without having clicked to pop-up the slider, mouse-wheel down & up could change loudess. in best case with a visual feedback, like a small bar inside the icon. dont know if that is possible with usual button's
feedback ? improvements ? critic ?
best regards

Yes, thats a good point.
Let the user define its upper slider limit in Cog's Preferences.

Topic: Control Loudness in latest nightly releases (2 replies, posted in Development)
Hi
i have noticed the GUI change in the latest nightly releases.
to be honest the new loudness-button is a big step back from my personal point of view.
* Basically me as a user does need at least one-click more now.
I need to open the dialog (1 click) and change the slider (at least 1 click)
* Slider Scale
If i take a look on my volume-slide-bar i do use the first 20 % if it, everything else would be horrible loud.
So i have to do my loudness-sound-level-calibration in about less then 1 cm of GUI.
Using optical-out on my mac pro
* Slider Controlling:
Is there a way to control the slider without mouse-clicking ?
How about defining hot-keys to increase & decrease the sound-level.
i.e.: + & -
* Other ideas howto realize the sound-level-handling.
I really enjoyed the amarok idea in this area. You have a small gui-element which looks like a slidebar or similar.
If you push the mouse above this gui element you can change/interact just by scrolling your mouse-wheel.
i.e.
up -> increase
down -> decrease
GUI displays the change
just a few thoughts
Best regards

Re: few questions/suggestions [Drawer, copy tags, file associations] (5 replies, posted in Features)
regarding default player:
* select one .mp3 file in finder
* open get info dialog
* in the open with-section select COG
* press: change all
done.
But the DefaultPrefs hint is a good solution too

Topic: Howto configure default sound volume after startup (4 replies, posted in General)
Hi,
* actually i am using Cog (nightly)
* Using digital-out on my mac pro
I am wondering if there is a method to define Cog's startup sound volume
In my case its always on about 90% of Cog's volume slider, which is quite loud in my case
any ideas howto handle this topic
Best regards
